AV back in his old stomping ground, should be a good game. Canucks have the makings of a good young team but the Flyers are more talented, more experienced, deeper and much better coached.

I have been enjoying this season so far, seeing so many good things especially as a team and not just by individual play.

Per Nolan Patrick:

A little bit of me would love to see him sent down to the Phantoms for a few games when he is cleared. I hate seeing players come back from long absences only to look rusty and out of place when they return, especially if the team is on a roll when they return. Nolan is still waiver exempt this year and it would do him good to get his legs back and most importantly some confidence before getting thrown in where everyone else is in stride. Fans would complain, but they will complain no matter what anyway. Plus he will get to know his future teammates better. I personally believe these are the tiny decisions made that can make a positive impact for the future of the team.

i agree that a little bit of time in the minors would benefit Patrick. i think you hit everything spot on in this post.

Hart became the youngest goaltender in Flyers history to record a shutout, as he blanked the New Jersey Devils on 25 shots.

I would think a conditioning stint could be an option. Had he participated in training camp it would be different. he is way behind.

The great part of that goal is how quickly farabee fired out of the dzone to receive that pass. Real heady player

I'm still confused by Stewart being introduced as part of the team at the home opener. Are you allowed to have guys on PTOs during the season? I'm assuming no and he's just there in an unofficial capacity.

Yes, you can have guys on PTOs in-season. Dennis Seidenberg was on PTO with the Islanders for the first 3/4 of last season; practiced with the team, was in pressbox on game nights, etc. Finally was signed to prorated NHL minimum (but never dressed in a game) on NHL playoff roster filing deadline day (AKA "the trade deadline").

The season where Simon Gagne ultimately retired, he was in-season PTO with the Bruins until they opened enough space to sign him. He retired a few months later due to injury and his heart not being into playing anymore after the passing of his father, Pierre.
